Coaches, Parents, and Athletes!
Thank you very much for attending our very first ever United event. Eight clubs came together to provide a competitive and cooperative event. During the planning process of Chile Spike United, our volleyball community lost an amazing young lady, who wanted everyone to be included and happy. Rylee Lawson was a beautiful spirit and it only made sense that we dedicate this effort of unity as a tribute to her. As part of your tournament experience we asked that you be a little kinder today (if not everyday), and to not only see but recognize the kindness shown by others. Show good sportsmanship when you win and when you lose. Treat our refs with consideration and respect. Most importantly, remember that this is only a game, and we are all working toward a similar goal.
During this event we looked for an athlete who showed a great deal of plain goodness, someone who stood out from the rest. This athlete was awarded our Rylee Lawson award. We asked coaches to help us vote. Many coach submitted a voting card, for an athlete on one of their opposing teams during pool play on Saturday.
Congratulations to #16, Alison Wasilowski of NM Southern Invasion Sirens! To see a full list of nominees click here.
We do appreciate your attendance and hope this event is one you chose to take part in next year!
